Email Message Delivery Issue

Exchange 2016 -- Strange issue today with messages not being delivered to a specific end user (according to the end user).

Helpdesk initially looked into the issue and verified that there were no Outlook rules configured in Outlook.

Message tracking and journaling show the messages are being delivered to the end user. Everything points to an mailbox rule or a mailbox issue. From Exchange Powershell (Get-InboxRule –Mailbox tsmith) displayed a mailbox rule that was not being displayed in the Outlook client. I remoted the end users’ machine to verify as well. The rule was to delete email messages delivered to the mailbox that contain specific words. Once the rule was removed using Remove-InboxRule command, the issue was resolved.
